Friday Nonsense

This was doing the rounds of the office today, although no one seems to know why we found it so funny:

Right, that's yer lot - I'm off to live it up in Slough for nibus's birthday, followed by a weekend of extended jollification, some of it Martha Wainwright-related. So if I lapse into some extremely foul language at any point, you'll know who to blame.

That is very funny... but.. but.. I don't know why. lol

Yes, it's very funny.
a) because of anachronism
b) because people don't normally say 'Lol' but only write it (so far as I know).
I happen to find 'lol' funny in itself. So whenever I see it I laugh.
Only thing is, I seldom laugh out loud so I rarely type 'Lol'. I need something like LSTM (laughing silently to myself) or AFSPAML (A faint smile playing about my lips).
That's enough analysis.
Lol.

rotfl always makes me laugh. I never understood how do you do that a type rotfl at the same time?

I was having a bit of email banter with a couple of male friends when I first came across "lol". I was deeply disturbed that one was saying "lots of love" to the other for no apparent reason....

Anyhow there's a bit on that Streets album where he actually says "soz" insted of sorry.

I suppose if you thought it stood for "loving out loud" that would be even more disturbing.

It's the repetition of 'lol' that I like, for some reason.

Willie - LOL!

I've said Soz. Mostly to my friend Sez (Sarah). Clearly I'm from Auz.
