I don't have an iPod of any kind - do I need one?

Oh yes indeed; I cannot imagine life without my iPod now. Mine does have a shuffle option on it but I really hate it. It just doesn't work for 'classical music' (hate that term). It's worse than listening to Classic FM; you get, say, a Mozart recitative and then a movement from a Mahler symphony straight after, without hearing the aria. Mr C now has the even-bigger memory one which can hold our entire, not inconsiderable, CD collection, plus all our photos.

I see there are two cars ad campaigns at the moment featuring iPod connectors as the main selling point. Amazing really.

So it's just me that thinks the speakers look like the spaghetti monster, then?

I think I'll go and lie down.

Perhaps He chooses to appear to you in the form of an iPod speaker system, in order to guide you along the enlightened path of beautifully designed (although somewhat overpriced) consumer electronics.

Or perhaps the heat in the office this week has been getting a bit much for you, hmmm?

I was just thinking, 'that's funny, I don't remember a spaghetti monster being in that painting' and then I realised it wasn't the original.

I think they are astonishingly alike. Well done you, patroclus. I'm just embarrassed that I had never heard of the Spaghetti Monster before, so thank you for bringing me into the loop. That's just one of the many excellent reasons to keep up with your blog.

I didn't know about the spaghetti thing either, but I do now.
Don't worry Poppy, I have an MP3 player that isn't an iPod.
The spaghtti thing does look a bit like the speakers, and now I think all speakers are going to make me feel hungry.

Are you saying the creator of the universe and your iPod speaker system are like brother and sister? Or do they have more of a lucifer/jehovah thing going on.

Oh wow - I've had a Damascene conversion. I'd not heard of FSM before, but it's all so obvious. As it says on Wikipedia, all evidence of contrary religions (and evolution) were planted by by the FSM. I have been touched by his Noodly Appendages, via your blog. A million thanks....
