The problem is, as much as Brown wants to help with his donation, it's just going to go into the pockets of Mugabe. I would be very surprised if it got anywhere near where it was needed.
PS - my blog has moved to www.parlezvousmoo.com
Hope not - looks like Mugabe is finally admitting defeat and going off into the sunset, where he belongs...
Such a pity that Ian Smith conked out a few months ago. I had a delightful image of him and Mugabe in the same Bulawayo retirement home together.
Oh well. Maybe a sitcom with Geoffrey Palmer and Rudolph Walker.
History will be his judge, he said. As may Jesus.
Well let's hope History and Jesus both give him a good bashing. Although that wasn't really Jesus's style, was it?
Hmm. Comrade Bob is not going to give up power. He's telling everybody the West and Mr Brown's Britain in particular are to blame for the country descending into starvation and chaos. But he'll have the billion quid, ta. Only an invasion could possibly budge him. Zimbabweans are flooding across the border into SA in a torrent -- millions, in fact. I don't think they'd mind an invasion a bit.
Hello DavetheF! Yes, it looks like I was being a bit too optimistic up there. Still, he's 84 or something, he might die soon.
