OK, you are really going to have to explain the 2nd 2.

And Clay Shirky, while you're at it, please!

GSE: I was only playing a boy in an opera, but (republicans look away now) I got presented to the Queen afterwards, and I had to bow rather than curtsey.

Lucy: I think really I'd just like to write for Wired, because that's the kind of tosser I am. Sadly my woolly girl-mind dictates that I can't sustain a rational argument for more than five minutes, which immediately disqualifies me from writing on all technological and popular-science topics.

But wait, that's what I do for a living!

See?

The boy I could understand, but an estate agent?!!

Clay Shirky writes about the internet, apparently.

I think you're going to have to move that one to the other list, P.

Yay for androgyny before the Royals!

Dave: I know. It was abroad, if that's any help. Actually that probably makes it worse.

Spin: The nearest I got was when GSE mentioned my name in the same sentence as the boy Shirky in her dissertation.

Prolix: Indeed. Although I believe the royals used to dress their young male offspring as girls, so they're probably used to it.

I thought everybody wanted to Japanese at some time in their lives, which is why I didn't bother to include it in mine. It's like wanting a cup of tea.

Resent yesterday's e-mail. Let me know if you didn't receive.

I thought about being an archaeologist, but it seemed too dull. If I could have done archaelology like Indiana Jones, I would have been THERE dude.

I have shamelessly stolen this from you for my blog...

Sorry.

Tim: Got email (woo!), thank you, and have replied.

Nine-Tenths: No need to apologise, that's what these 'memes' are for. Strangely, I would have liked to brush at bits of old pot with a toothbrush, but I suspect I don't have the patience.

I like that meme, too. Now that I'm 50 it is a good time to reflect on those things...

I would add, though, things I still want to be.
