At Home With The Bloggers

From left to right:

1. Your correspondent, coyly engrossed in a copy of Tim Cultural Snow's magnum opus, Welcome To The Machine: OK Computer And The Death Of The Classic Album.

2. The lovely James Blue Cat, reading Katy Newton's contribution to Shaggy Blog Stories: A Collection Of Amusing Tales From The UK Blogosphere.

3. Fairy lights (model's own).

4. Some IKEA bedlinen (model's own).

Not shown: A Habitat mug, some Tea Tree Oil Mattifying Moisture Gel*, the Eiffel Tower, Benjamin Franklin inventing the lightning rod, weevils, Superman.

In the foreground: my MASSIVE SCARY HAND.

Bloggers reading books by other bloggers while in bed with other bloggers are so hot right now.

* Whose name suggests that it exists in several physical states simultaneously, thus contradicting all known laws of physics and making it a possible contender for the 'philosopher's stone' long sought by medieval alchemists. If only they'd thought to look in the Body Shop, eh?

What's disturbing me here is the vague impression that your arm and James' arm are attached to the same person. Which would be a little, hm, mismatched. Also, how did you take the picture?

But I shall not long ponder these deep thoughts, as my own hand is currently wrapped around a giant mug of café au lait (well, okay, au rice milk, but still), garnished with a heaping teaspoon of Billington's Dark Molasses Brown Sugar, which my kind aunt picked up for me on a jaunt to Paris. So I am, as they say around here, all set. And just a bit distracted. Mmm, coffee. What were we talking about again?

I don't have my copy of Tim's book yet. It is supposed to arrive the day after my birthday...

Oh yeah, and.. you have weevils in your bedroom?

Mmm, Billington's Dark Molasses Brown Sugar - I've never heard of it, but I really want some to have on my porridge.

I took this photo with my prehensile arm, which is not either of the ones shown. I also routinely check my bed for weevils, Benjamin Franklin and Superman. None has yet been found to be present, although future infestations can never be ruled out.

Tim's book is jolly good and I hope to post a review soon. He has a lovely way with words.

Is this a game we can all play? the sight of me in bed reading is just too much to contemplate. And there's the Laura Ashley wallpaper to deal with. I am currently reading a book called Beyond Chocolate which is all about ditching the diet and curing yourself of your emotional eating.....Loved your bed linen, P, and the fairy lights
Am off to forage for chocolate.

So which weevil are you going to pick?

(You had to see this one coming, right?)

'Bloggers reading books by other bloggers while in bed with other bloggers are so hot right now.'

But is it compulsory? And are you planning to organise some form of agency whereby we single bloggers can find a compatible blog partner to share bed/book with?

I like your bedding too, it's made me want to go out and buy some new stuff for my room.

But the joys of renting mean that my room has a horrid ancient blue carpet, yellow walls and pillar-box red blinds. Fighting a losing battle.

Ah, Spin, also not shown in that photo is the horrid ancient blue carpet that pervades my entire (rented) flat, ruining the entire ambience. Bad luck on the yellow walls, too - but surely you can replace the blinds?

You forgot the close-up of your furrowed brow. Mind you, I was supposed to look serious in my picture and I just look sleepy.

Sylvia said...

where's your photo Billy?

And anyway P, why aren't you reading World of Interiors? Ahem

My carpet's a horrid green due to all the crap spilled onto it over the years. It was a nice colour once.

Interesting comment about the tea tree oil product - I do recall from my deepest darkest school days the "critical point" at which a liquid and vapour can coexist but I am not sure that oil, moisture and gel quite fit the bill here.

Interesting that people still have a discernible carpet colour in their bedrooms!

When I first received my copy of Shaggy Blog Stories I thought it would be a great idea to post a picture of myself wearing Justified Ancients Of Mu Mu-style robes reading the book.

I realised that I might have been feeling a bit "lightheaded" at the time. Besides, where am I going to get hold of some Justified Ancients Of Mu Mu robes?

I love this picture. Although the hand is indeed truly scary.

R Swipe's spicy and rather scabrous review of the bloggy stories is a bit out of the ordinary for Amazon

I hope that's round your house, because that pillow screams GIRL.

It is indeed the pillow of a Patroclus - the pillows in my flat are stained and made of IRON, and the onlly light comes from the burning bodies of my enemies.

Although I do have quite a nice patchwork quilt, which my mum made.

Hmm, that is actually the less girly of my two bedlinen sets. And there was me thinking I was some kind of tomboyish cyber-chick, like her out of Neuromancer.

i've had to poke amazonbooks with a pointy stick to remind me to send tims' book along. and now the shaggy blog book too.
your digs (what little I can see) look oddly like my daughters' place. i am beginning to feel (more) disoriented (than usual).

I must ask Billy to take a pic of me looking at the King Crimson pic in Billy's copy of Tim's book. I feel left out otherwise.
