...And They Lived Happily Ever After

The End.

What?

This is as if St Eadbert got bored with Lindisfarne and moved to East Grinstead. As if Cadoc joined a thrash metal band (without earplugs). As if Simpronian took up cattle rustling.

It's not on you know.

Yes. What GSE said.
Stop being so silly.
The internet needs as many rambling loonies as it can get.
Have you read some of the rubbish that is out there?

Boz said...

Nooooooooooo...

I'm going to seriously have to reconsider my relationship with the internet is this prevails.

Boz said...

...actually what I mean is that shutting up shop here this is the very essence of what we don't want.

Tim F said...

Oh, Bottoms. And not nice ones, like what Audrey Tautou's got, neither.

If we threaten to teach Blue Kitten to talk like Adrian Chiles, will you reconsider?

Just to let you know, in case it makes any difference at all, we really don't want to make you feel obligated to post on any kind of a schedule. We'd love for you to just blog about any random thoughts or events, whenever you feel like it. We'll always be happy to see you.

What Rebecca and Boz said :(

Hang on, you've tried this before. This isn't Lord of the Rings, is it?

Less faciously: :(

Last time this happened I was too prudish to congratulate you on having said 'I am 3cm dilated and eating a banana (this is not a euphemism)', but sod it. The best sentence on the internet, easy.

Sarah said...

Oh, and I was so excited to see that you'd posted again. This was not the sort of post I was hoping for. The bitter irony.

chatterbox said...

Nooooooooooo.

But 'they lived happily ever after' is never really the end you know... Didn't you always want to know if Snow White sort of missed having Grumpy around being annoying? Or think that Cinderella probably missed her sisters after all, and want to hear about their adventures after she rode off into the sunset?

We will keep hanging around kicking our heels you know, so you can just throw us an occasional analysis of grooming product labelling now and again when you feel like it, and we will be perfectly satisfied with that.

Whilst appreciating that you must feel intimidated by my output, both in terms of quantity and quality, really there is no need for this kind of craven defeatist attitude.

What everyone else said.

Calm down. It's just a blog, folks.

Sylvia said...

Nooo! It's not just a blog! It's the bloggiest of blogs! don't leave us, P!

Rebecca said...

Anon must know you IRL. For the rest of us, the blog is your online presence...which we will miss. However, we seem to still have the crumbs of tweets on Twitter. So maybe we won't grouse as hard. But just so you know, we'd still love having a blog post should the mood continue to strike, however infrequent they might be.

Aww, just leave the lights on and go off on extended holiday. It's not using any power, and you might want to visit sometime...

We have had false endings before. This cannot be. Woe is me etc.

So long Pictish One . . . and thanks for putting me on to Husky Rescue. And lots of other great stuff.

Now look what you've done. Your father's stopped to. Is it some sort of virus?

You are all lovely, but I can't read the comments, it's making me too sad. My blog was very important to me, but there just isn't any time for it now. And nothing more to say, either.

Rebecca said...

No, no, don't be sad! That's our whole point. You don't have to say anything if you don't have the time or something to say. We have feed readers now, we don't have to keep checking in. Just say something when you DO have time and something to say. It'll just pop up on our reader and we'll be happy. Win-Win!

No. Can't say what I want to say. Just can't form it into words. You rest this blog with my utmost respect - I hope I will know when it's the right time for my site too. Reading this blog was like looking squarely into the cold face of the internet, and suddenly being tickled under the chin.

rockmother said...

Oh bugger. Just as I was catching up again. I totally understand - edging there myself. x

Jayne said...

Dang. Will offers of gin and chocolate help change your mind?

cello said...

Sad, yes. But the reasons you haven't got time are all much more fun/important than even this blog, and that's saying something.

Anyway, nothing's forever - unless you want it to be.

Annie said...

oh for fuck's SAKE

pffffffffft

bah

Boz said...

What Cello said!

It would be tragic if you wasted a well-deserved peaceful five minutes to yourself by feeling guilty about not blogging.

I look forward to the rebirth of the blog in 17 years time immensely. :-)

Oh behave.

Get back here this minute or Mr Palm will be paying a visit to Bottyland.

I'm wondering how long to leave it before having the last word on this blog. And what that word will be. Tim?

BiScUiTs said...

Ah no, I really am extremely late aren't I? I always am. Well... this is quite sad!
