The Day Before Tomorrow

The three most recent status updates on my Facebook homepage:

Patroclus is not sure how it can be warm and sunny and snowing, but it is.

Sally has had sunshine, snow and sunshine....bizarre day!!!!

Kim thinks there is something a bit strange when I can build a snowman in the morning, and sit in the sunshine with a cup of tea in the afternoon.

Later, wolves roam the deserted streets devouring the frozen corpses of the fallen, while ice-choked RAF helicopters fail to rescue Prince Philip from the snowbound hospital.

Followed by a nice barbecue on the beach.

I just hope our forthcoming breakdown of society is scientifically plausible.

Minor apocalypse. Told you so...

Are you sure it's a blue kitten and not the spawn of Satan you're gestating? Look for horns on the scan.

Still. The days are getting longer.

And maybe it's Prince Philip on the barbeque

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I've just seen Prince Philip emerging from hospital, unscathed and in full possession of faculties, on the BBC News.

Meanwhile, menacing looking youths have been throwing snowballs at passing cars in Bexleyheath. Trying to look menacing while making snowballs must take a lot of effort.

count me in. I'm fresh off the blogged-about local dirty-bomb practice, so that must make me some kind of an expert at calm after chaos, no?

Haven't noticed any result of global warming here by the North Sea.

Although I did see an iceberg float by on the flood-water by my front door yesterday. Does that count?

My avatar does however show me in a short-sleeved and open-top shirt, while the young lady is wearing a coat, and hat with snow on it.

Was Prince Philly having his racism removed, do we think?

Yay for longer days.

Although it does mean that I get up at stupid o'clock because the sun is streaming through my window :(

So even on Facebook everyone talks about the weather?

2pm today - I'm on the beach enjoying the sun. There's even a lobster-coloured fat bloke nearby with his top off.

4pm - I'm being rained on in town.

6pm - It's sunny again, but now I'm watching hailstones fall outside my window.

I wish this apocalypse would make its mind up.
