I'm off on a whistle-stop Grand Tour of foreign countries, including France, Switzerland, the Slough Trading Estate and Cornwall, for to bring back exciting and rare objects for my private collection.
Normal service will perhaps be resumed ere long.
UPDATE (because I know you're all, without exception, fascinated by my every move): I'm no longer going to Switzerland, which is fortunate, because the conversation I was going to have in Switzerland took just ten minutes on the phone, but I am going to Suffolk. Does that count?
Actually I'm not really going to many foreign countries at all, am I?

I hope you have a great time Patro. Bring back some nice bits and bobs that you can take pics of and post up here.
And bring back Wyndham if you see him.
Enjoy
ooh, Slough Trading estate - very exotic. Do you need jabs or anything?
(have fun btw)
god yes, please put in a call to wyndham afore ye go
When in Slough do as the Slougvians do. And don't mention John Betjeman.
I had no idea you were disappearing. And just as I was about to haul my arse back to regular blogging once more.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy yourself. I'm sure there's plenty of interesting and novel entertainment to be had in the Slough Trading Estate, it just needs to be given a chance to bloom.
By the way I think you should definitely bring back from your travels a cat (of the blue sort) for your private collection. Although perhaps thats already a consideration. I hope so.
Have fun.
Thanks DJ for the useful advice.
Ah, the sun, the sea, the sand, the Slough Trading Estate . . . I can see it now!
Have a lovely time, all the same.
Oddly, I have been to Cornwall, Suffolk, and the Slough Trading estate in the past month or so.
This might be a bit controversial, but Cornwall was the nicest.
Enjoy.
I'm sure you will especially enjoy East Anglia.
I'm just off to Wales.
You have been toying with us! Guess you can't bring us chocolate....
Have fun wherever you go.
Do pop in for a cuppa while you're in Suffolk. You won't find anything else to do...
That's a shame about Switzerland - it cut out the opportunity to finish the phonecall with "See you in Zurich".
I'm sure you know what I mean. I'm willing to bet you could quote whole passages from it too, heh.
Aimee: I do, and indeed I could, and moreover I have been known to.
Everyone else: why thank you. Enjoyment is not very high up the agenda for most of these excursions, however. Quite the opposite, in the majority of cases. Soon I'll stop being annoyingly cryptic and post up a full run-down of recent (and unexpected) events. Er, possibly.
Something unexpected happened in Suffolk?
You're making it up.
