Ahem

Yes, well, er, that went well, I feel.

Um, nothing to see here.

  1. By the way, you left forty one pence behind. Was this a tip?

  2. so, how was it then?

  3. The weather was most clement, thank you for asking.

Let us now save P any further blushes by saying that Mr B Cat and said P have recently been spending some quality time together, and let that be, for now, an end to the matter.

  4. No idea what's going on here, but glad you are back, and had a nice time and all, (I'm guessing.) Most frustrated that in my feed reader can be seen something that cuts off at a very intriguing point, which you clearly thought better about posting...

  5. I was going to ask about punk rock music recommendations, but clearly I missed that window of opportunity.

  6. Window of opportunity now fully restored, anxiety levels critical.

  7. Ahhhh.

    Very exciting development...

    Good on yer both.

  8. Eeeeek!! Awwww..

    (repeat several times)

What was the 41p tip for then?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Wow. Congratulations and the best of British* luck to the pair of you.

*Well, maybe not British. Some other really lucky country instead. Whichever that maybe.

  10. Even in Bangkok, 41p will only buy you a polite handshake (which is not a euphemism, I hasten to add).

And is he really blue, with no eyes or external genitalia? (Like a cross between Bowie on the cover of that rubbish album after Let's Dance and Bowie in The Man Who Fell To Earth.)

  11. Tim you can't believe everything in the profile picture. I'm fairly sure Patroclus isn't made of stone.

    And I'm really a gerbil.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I can quite categorically confirm that James doesn't resemble his profile picture in any way.

I, on the other hand, am a stone robot with no arms. Or possibly a robot that thinks it's a stone bust of Patroclus, I don't know. This blogging lark is so complicated.

Next thing we know, Tim'll be telling us he isn't a pipe. In French, probably.

  13. "polite handshake." sounds like a great name for a cocktail. shall we invent it?

  14. Congratulations Patroclus and James.

    Hx.

  15. Ooh, two of my favourite clever people make with The Romance. I find this very pleasing, as long as it doesn't mean you'll both be far too busy having fun to blog. That would be bad.

  16. Blimey Greta, it's you! (I should have known by your use of the word 'unutterably', really). Long time no see - hope all's well with you!

Also, thanks Heather, but stop that now, I've gone all embarrassed.

  17. PS. You will note that my reaction to this is, as so often, entirely selfish. You will further note that it took me quite some minutes to become aware of this (at least to the point where I thought I should maybe make it clear that I *am* aware of this). My soul is clearly in need of a bit of a scrub-up. They say blogging is all about the narcissim, but that probably isn't supposed to apply also to comments on other blogs...

    *sigh*

  18. Gosh, how exciting, an interblog romance. Expecting blogging crossovers, rather like in Buffy and Angel.

  19. Oh my, what lovely news!! :) Very happy for both of you. Patroclus - make sure you get your 41p back ...

  20. greta is back?

ooh, racing over to hers pronto

(see how easily distracted i am?)

  21. It's like a particularly fine episode of Home & Away.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ooooowwww, how exciting! I'm concerned about the 41p though . . . if this is a tip, it could make one of you seem *really* cheap. ;)

  23. Sums of money I will come to regret, no. 876 in an extensive series...

    ReplyDelete
  24. Let that be an end to the matter! are you joking we want details!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. oh dang, a blogromance! congrats congrats!

(i really am a hot native american glued on the side of a corndog.)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yipee hurrah hurray! Ok - you can stop blushing now. x

  27. Oooh... paradox alert... if profile pics aren't what they seem... then maybe I am a pipe (rather than a picture of a pipe)

    but in German...

(BTW "It's like a particularly fine episode of Home & Away" is the best posted comment ever, and will be replayed endlessly, like Owen's goal against Argentina in '98 until we're all sick of it and you're mentally paralysed by its weight as a specimen of cultural iconography and you can't do anything else, ever.)

  28. Have clearly commented in the wrong place. Please see below for comments on inter-blog romance and Helsinki.

    That is all.

    ReplyDelete
  29. P, aren't you just a little bit worried about the effect that this news might have on James's legions of (slightly terrifying) GW obsessives?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Not to the extent that I'm about to skip the country for my own safety, Spin.

    Although...

    (See next post for details.)

Of course I myself was never a GW obsessive, and anyone who says I was is a big liar. Or they're Pashmina, or cello, or belladona, or smoo2, or POE, or...actually I'm not going to get away with it, am I?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Rest assured I know nothing at all about the ending, smoo2. And I intend to keep it that way, or it'll be like the Life on Mars incident all over again.

    ReplyDelete
  32. The news reached Helsinki last night, so here are the bit delayed congratulations.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Woohoo Taiga, you're back! There's been a big, empty hole in the blogosphere in your absence.

    ReplyDelete
  34. What was the Life On Mars incident?
& when is it coming back?

Again, to add to the others, congrats and all that business. Patroclus & the Blue Cat - a delightful combination.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Aimee: that was the time that I 'obtained' a preview copy of the last two eps of Life on Mars from a certain source (mentioning no names), before they were broadcast. Obviously I watched them both straightaway, and then went round for a week being totally insufferable and taunting people with 'I know something you don't know' in an irritating sing-song voice.

Plus, as it turned out, knowing the ending before everyone else was rubbish and spoiled all the fun (not that I didn't very much appreciate getting the preview DVD, she adds, hastily).

    ReplyDelete
  36. Forgive me, I've forgotten, was Life On Mars on BBC?
If it was, then I think I can (belatedly) join in with being annoying and smug (although unrelated to yours), as I can probably make a good guess at your certain source.

Ooh I'm feeling very on the ball this evening, which is a refreshing change.

  37. I haven't met Mr Cat, but I have encountered Patro. He's a lucky bloke.
    How enviable, a blog romance.
